What is Botox?

Botox is a medication that’s derived from botulinum toxin—a protein that’s produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which is found in soil and dust.

Botox is a neurotoxin that temporarily paralyzes muscles. When the bacteria enters the body through an open wound, it can cause botulism, which is a serious and potentially fatal illness.

How Does a Botox Brow Lift Work?

This relaxes the muscles and prevents them from contracting. As a result, your eyebrows are lifted into a more youthful position.

Am I eligible for a brow lift ? 

For young patients, Botulinum toxin is often enough to create a brow lift. If you are looking for a beautification treatment to acheive something more pronounced like a ‘cat eye’ look then a combination of both Botox and threads will give you the best results.

As we age, we lose tone in the muscles of our face, including those which elevate and support the eyebrow tail.

Loss of volume at the temples reduces support of the lateral (outer) eyelid, eyebrow and forehead. Patients who experience this may suffer from droopy eyebrows and sagging upper eyelids. Again, with more significant lift required, a mixture of filler and/or threads as well as Botox will reposition the eyebrow with better and longer lasting results.

What Can You Expect During the Procedure?

During the procedure, you will be seated in an upright position. Dr Fern will clean your skin with an antiseptic solution. They will then inject the botulinum toxin into your eyebrow muscles. 

The injection site will be marked with a pen beforehand. The whole procedure takes about 10 minutes to complete.

A Botox brow lift is a quick and relatively painless procedure that can be done in your doctor’s office. The entire procedure usually takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish. 

You may experience some bruising and swelling at the injection sites immediately after the procedure, but these side effects should subside within a few days. You’ll see the full effects of your Botox brow lift within two weeks
